Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, the day after US Thanksgiving, with Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Nykaa has not announced its Pink Friday 2026 dates as far as we can find (checked on 12 October 2026), so plan for late November and confirm on Nykaa's site or app before you build a shopping list around any date.
The sales worth your money are the ones you plan for: a short wishlist, a firm budget, and a price you wrote down before the banners went up. The rest of this guide covers how these sales work in India, how to spot a fake discount, which categories usually do well, and a simple plan you can start this week.
When are Black Friday and Nykaa Pink Friday in 2026?
Black Friday is the Friday after US Thanksgiving, which is the fourth Thursday of November. In 2026 that is Thursday 26 November, which makes Black Friday Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday Monday 30 November. Indian retailers borrow the name, and many run their own offers for a few days around it.
| Event | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Black Friday 2026 | Friday 27 November | Fixed by the calendar |
| Cyber Monday 2026 | Monday 30 November | Fixed by the calendar |
| Nykaa Pink Friday 2026 | Not announced yet | Nykaa's own guide for 2025 gave 21 to 30 November. Sale-tracker sites guess at windows from about 21 November to early December for 2026, and they disagree. |
Treat any date for Pink Friday 2026 as a guess until Nykaa announces it. Sale-tracker sites say Nykaa usually announces dates through its app, website banners and email, so those are the places to check. If you want a calendar to plan around, Diwali is on Sunday 8 November 2026, so this sale comes a few weeks after the festive rush, and the wedding muhurat season opens around 21 November, which matters if you are also buying gifts or jewellery.
How do Black Friday and Pink Friday sales work in India?
Black Friday in India is a marketing event, not a retail rule. Retailers such as electronics chains, fashion platforms and beauty sellers run offers under the banner for a few days or a week, and the terms are set by each store. Nykaa runs its own sale called Pink Friday, which is a separate event with its own mechanics.
From Nykaa's own 2025 guide, here is how Pink Friday worked last year, so you know what to look for this year:
- It ran from 21 to 30 November 2025, starting at 4 PM on the first day.
- Prices were revealed before the sale so shoppers could add items to a saved list called the Pink Box.
- Brands ran flash sales in timed slots, some with free gifts above set order values.
- Nykaa said discounts apply automatically, and that new customers could get an extra discount on top of the sale prices.
Terms may change every year, so read the current offer page before you buy. For other categories, deal-tracker sites listed offers from stores such as Croma, Reliance Digital, Tata CLiQ and Myntra around Black Friday in 2025, with dates and discounts that differed between sources. Confirm each offer on the store's own page.

How do you spot a fake discount?
A discount is only real if the price before it was real. The usual trick is a high reference price that the item rarely sold at, which makes the offer look bigger than it is. Check these five things before you buy.
- Look at the price history. Business Today reported in November 2025 that Amazon India's app has a Price History option under the price, with a 30 or 90 day view, and it appeared to be app-only at that time. Later 2026 reports mention a 365-day view, so the view has been extended since launch; check the app to see what yours shows. Third-party trackers such as Keepa or BuyHatke are also commonly used. Read how each gets its data before you trust it.
- Write the price down a week or two before the sale. Your own note is the most reliable record you have.
- Compare the same item, in the same size and variant, on two or three stores. A sale price is sometimes for a different pack size or colour.
- Check what the discount covers. Is it the price at checkout, or after a bank offer that needs a minimum spend?
- Add up the final total. Delivery, handling and convenience fees that only appear at checkout are what the CCPA calls drip pricing, so add them up before you decide.
The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) notified Guidelines for Prevention and Regulation of Dark Patterns on 30 November 2023. They list 13 practices, including false urgency, which is fake scarcity or pressure to buy quickly, drip pricing, which is hiding the full price until checkout, basket sneaking, which is adding items to your cart without your choice, and bait and switch.
We are not saying any particular store does these. We are saying they are named practices, so knowing them helps you spot a countdown timer or a surprise add-on for what it is.

What are the cashback and bank-offer traps?
A cashback offer can be genuine and still not worth chasing. Before you let it change what you buy, read the fine print for these points.
- Minimum spend. Buying something extra to reach a threshold turns a saving into a spend.
- Cap. Many offers have a maximum amount, so a big purchase may earn the same benefit as a mid-sized one.
- Where the money lands. Cashback credited as store credit or points may expire or only work at that store.
- When it arrives. Some offers pay out weeks later, and some are reversed if you return the item.
- Payment method. Offers tied to one card or wallet only help if you would have used it anyway.
A simple test: would you still buy this item if the offer disappeared? If not, it is not a saving.
What usually goes on sale: beauty, gadgets or fashion?
Different categories behave differently, and none of them is guaranteed. Here is what to expect, without numbers, because discounts change every year.
- Beauty. Nykaa's 2025 Pink Friday covered skin, hair and makeup, with brand flash sales and multi-brand kits. It is a good time to restock products you already use, but check the expiry or shelf life and the return policy for opened items. See Nykaa's own site for the current sale
- Gadgets. Electronics retailers advertise offers on phones, laptops, audio and appliances around Black Friday. Check the exact model number, the warranty and whether the offer is on an older model. Check Croma's own site or Reliance Digital for current offers.
- Fashion. Winter wear, ethnic wear for the wedding season and basics are typical candidates. Check size charts and returns first. See Myntra's own site, Tata CLiQ, or check ethnic wear on Amazon.

What is worth buying, and what should you skip?
Our stance: buy what is already on your list, and skip anything you only want because the number looks good. The table makes it concrete.
| Worth buying | Skip or wait |
|---|---|
| Skincare or makeup you already use and know suits your skin | New active products you have never tried. Patch test anything new before you commit. |
| A gadget you researched and put on a list before the sale | An older model sold as a bargain, or a bundle you did not plan |
| Winter and ethnic wear you will wear this season | Impulse fashion you cannot return easily |
| Gifts for the wedding season, bought against a list | Gold jewellery bought because of a sale banner |
On that last point, a sale banner is not a reason to rush a gold purchase. Check the hallmark and HUID first with our hallmark checklist, and compare the making charge in our making charges guide.
A simple plan: wishlist, budget, timing
This takes about twenty minutes and saves money in every sale.
- This week: build the wishlist. Write down five to ten things you actually need or have been meaning to replace, with the exact size, shade or model.
- This week: note today's prices. A screenshot works. This is your baseline.
- Set one budget cap. Say it out loud, and leave a small cushion for delivery or a forgotten item.
- Mid November: check the dates. Look for Nykaa's announcement in its app and on its site, and note the start time, because Pink Friday started at 4 PM in 2025.
- On sale day: buy from the list only. If something is not on the list, it goes on next year's list.
- Compare before paying. If the price is not lower than your baseline, or the return terms are unclear, skip it.
- After you buy: keep the proof. Save the invoice, the order page and screenshots of the price and offer, and note the last date to return.

What if something goes wrong with an order?
Under India's Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, platforms must display information on returns, refunds and exchanges, and name a grievance officer. As summarised by legal guides, the officer must acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month. Start with the store's own grievance route, and keep screenshots.
If that does not work, the National Consumer Helpline takes complaints on 1915 (8 AM to 8 PM), through the portal at consumerhelpline.gov.in or on WhatsApp at +91 88000 01915. This is general information and not legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
When is Black Friday 2026 in India?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, the day after US Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday is on Monday 30 November. Indian retailers set their own sale dates around it, so check each store.
When is the Nykaa Pink Friday sale in 2026?
Nykaa has not announced the dates as far as we can find. Its own guide for 2025 gave 21 to 30 November, starting at 4 PM on the first day. Check Nykaa's app and site for the confirmed 2026 dates.
How can I check if a discount is real?
Write down the price a week or two before the sale, check a price-history tool, and compare the same item in the same size on two or three stores. Add up delivery and other fees at checkout, and be careful with countdown timers and low-stock warnings.
Is it worth waiting for Black Friday to buy gadgets or beauty products?
If the item is already on your list and the price beats the one you recorded, yes. If you are buying something you never planned to, or the discount depends on a minimum spend or a card offer, it may not save you money.
What can I do if I am not given a refund?
Contact the store's grievance officer first and keep your screenshots and invoice. If that fails, the National Consumer Helpline is on 1915 and at consumerhelpline.gov.in.
Your next step: today, write your wishlist and screenshot today's price for each item, then set a reminder for mid November to check Nykaa's announcement. If you are also buying for weddings, read our wedding gift guide, and if gold is on your list, compare designs in our gold chain guide and check our jewellery brands comparison before you buy.
