Objectifying and showing women as a mere accessory are not something new for the film industry. Even the dialogues suggest of the same treatment.
However, the effect of these approaches on screen travels far from the reel life into the real life.
This time the voice again such treatment of women in films came from the lady officers in the field of law enforcement.
One of the Tamil Nadu lady police officers said that “I personally feel as a lady police officer, I need to raise my voice against this.”
DCP S. Lakshmi of Coimbatore is mainly the one who pointed out that due to the terrible presentation of women in Tamil films the crimes also take place in same fashion. Also, this is not common only to Tamil Film industry.
