Domestic violence is not a simple word or a negative emotion; it is like a curse to humanity. Theoretically, it is a behavior used by a person in a relationship to show the control and the dominance over the other in the most negative way.
Violence can be criminal and includes physical assault, stalking and sexual abuse (unwanted or forced sexual activity). However, physiological or financial abuse is not necessarily criminal behaviors; they are also the forms of abuse and later can turn out to be criminal violence. Well, domestic violence is something that can happen to anyone, but the only way to stop it is recognizing the warning signs and raising a voice against it.
For example, abuse can include:
- Threatened physical harm
- Forcing a partner from not contacting their family or friends
- Sexual assault
- Stalking
- Intimidation
Whether the violence is done once or it takes place regularly, it is a serious offense to humanity and this should not be taken lightly. There is no specific age, sex, race, religion, education sector, employment, or culture that faces domestic violence; victim can be you, me, or anyone. ANYONE CAN BE A VICTIM TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!
If you think that its only women and children that face the problem of violence, it is not true even men have been the victims of this abuse. Well, it is something that should not happen to anyone ever, not even once.
It is high time we started pledging to fight against this humanity evil. No matter whether you have lived with it, maybe it happened just once, or happening with someone living next to your home; you just need to look for the local help against domestic abuse right away.
